Why Bond loves bikes: 007′s weight-loss tip

Anyone got some tape? Daniel’s ripped. Just ask our dear queen who was happy to take a bit part in last week’s Olympic opening ceremony because it meant getting up close and personal with 007 (above Mr Craig is shown in the first official publicity shot for Skyfall, his new Bond movie). Daniel Craig, Prince Philip mmm, tricky one.

If you’re after Daniel’s physique, it isn’t difficult to achieve. He says it’s all down to old-fashioned exercises such as power lifting, squats, pull ups, press ups and sit ups. Trouble is you have to do them intensely for 45 minutes a day Monday to Friday every week. I imagine that’s when the incentive of a worldwide cinema audience and high-definition camera lenses come in handy.

If you don’t need muscles but would like to lose weight, Daniel’s tip is to take to the exercise bike, get your heart rate to 160 and keep it there for at least 10 minutes…  Then the pounds will drop off as quickly as his clothes.
